Michael Schrader, Partner/Agent:

Specializing in Auto, Home and Flood Insurance

began his insurance career in 1978 as co-founder of Schrader & Murphy Insurance. He and Tom Murphy operated five insurance agencies in Northern California. Michael moved to Spokane, WA in 1990 where he opened three insurance agencies in Eastern Washington and purchased an interest in Finder’s Insurance of Pasco, WA. Michael sold his interest in Schrader & Murphy Insurance and Finders Insurance to his business partner in the late nineties and began Spectrum Auto Insurance Network, an Internet insurance agency, which he moved to Vancouver, WA in 2004. Spectrum Insurance was sold to Schrader & Murphy Insurance in May, 2007 so that he could focus his efforts on LIA Direct. Michael served as a county planning commissioner in Butte County, CA and Spokane County, WA. He also served on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in Oroville, CA and Spokane Valley, WA. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) of Washington/Alaska.

Edward Mehrer, LIA Direct Insurance of Redding. Partner/Agent:

Insurance Agent for Auto, Home, Life, and Business. Ed graduated from Anderson Union High in 1977. He left the Redding area after enlisting in the Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in January of 1996 after his completion of his two college degrees. These include his Bachelors of Business Administration and Electronic Systems degrees. He returned to California in 1996, working in the San Francisco Bay as an Electronic Engineer. In 2011, he made his final move back to the Redding area to be closer to family and friends. He started as a local reserve agent for Farmers Insurance of Redding. He later met Michael Schrader of LIA Direct and opened the Redding Office as a partner

Rick Walley, Home & Life Insurance Agent:

Grew up in the Sonoma Valley and moved to Northern California in 1980 where he attended Shasta College. After spending over twenty years in the restaurant industry, Rick changed his career to the Real Estate industry in 2000 after obtaining his real estate and mortgage licenses. Rick added Fire & Casualty and Life & Health Insurance to his list of licenses in 2008 and after working as an independent insurance agent for three years, he opened A-1 Quality Health Insurance in Redding, CA specializing in Life, Health, Medicare Supplements, Long Term Care and Annuities. In January of 2012, Rick relocated A-1 Quality Health Insurance to Anderson, CA and formed an association with LIA Direct Insurance. LIA Direct offers some of the lowest auto and homeowner’s insurance rates in the state of California. The association with LIA Direct allows customers of A-1 Quality Heath Insurance the convenience of a full service Insurance Agency that offers Auto, Home, Business, Life, Health, Long Term Care, Annuities and Medicare Insurance products.

Marian Owens, Agent for Southern Butte County:

Marian began her insurance career in 1980 with Schrader & Murphy Insurance of California.  She was promoted to Vice-President and soon after became President and eventually purchased the California based Schrader & Murphy Insurance agency in 1996.  Marian loves working in the insurance industry and always takes pride in being able to help others with their insurance needs.  Marian has returned to the insurance industry after taking a break. LIA Direct Insurance Agency is honored to have Marian as one of their valued Producers with many years of insurance experience. Marian is based in Oroville, CA and provides personal lines insurance services to our customers in Butte County, CA.

Sidonia Dustin, Agent for Sacramento County:

Sidonia began her insurance career in 2003 with Eastwood Insurance Agency of Sacramento, CA. She transferred to the California State Auto Association (AAA) in 2005 where she worked as an agent until 2007 when she accepted an offer to work for Freeway Insurance. Sidonia was employed by State Farm Insurance from 2013 to 2016 after which she became an agent for LIA Direct Insurance Agency. Sidonia prides herself on being a knowledgeable expert in auto and home insurance in order to better assist her customers. Sidonia is based in Sacramento, CA and provides personal lines insurance for our customers in Carmichael, Arden and Rancho Cordova, CA
